Founder, Mr Paul Smithson started Sunrunner Sport Cruisers in July 2000 with the goal or releasing a 3400 Sport Cruiser…… In May 2001 he achieve that goal by releasing what was to become the 2002 AMIF Australian Boat Of the Year, the Award winning Sunrunner 3700LE (leg or stern drive 3700).
Since that time Paul and Sunrunner released several new vessels including;
3700SE, Shaft Drive 3700
3300
4800
3700 and 4800 Eclipse (semi enclosed hard tops)
2800 and
3100 sport cruisers…..
In late 2007 Sunrunner released an express cruiser range of vessels, on models including 2800, 3100, 3300 and 3700 Series, with an open hard top structure on stainless and a new Sport Fisher version of the 3100.
Throughout this time, Sunrunner and its International Brand of Ausrunner Sport Cruisers has ‘floated’ dozens of vessels offshore, including, China, NZ, USA, Tiawan and Greece. “Our campaign into 2010 is to concentrate on emerging markets of Asia, mainly being China, Korea and India”. These Countries are keen not only to buy such luxury vessels, but are keen to work with Ausrunner on the basis ok knowledge regarding marine opportunities generally, from Marina construction to housing construction, vessel training, handling and maintenance to water sports and lifestyle enjoyment. “we are working with several construction companies throughout these countries and believe the markets are of wholesale nature”.
Furthermore and most importantly, Sunrunner continues domestically with some 350 vessels on the water in the several years of operations. Our Dealerships include NSW, both Sydney and Central / Northern NSW, Victoria, Adelaide, WA in Fremantle and Mandurah, Gold Coast and Cairns. We have positive relationships with several Boating Clubs which include membership based operations, equity programs and daily rentals of vessels.
At Sunrunner, we are proud of our construction process as it includes a unique internal liner system that not only provides a clean finish to our internal presentation, but it provides an internal structural platform that is second to none. Such internal structures are adhered by way of fiberglass and fastenings to the main hull and deck, the process as certified by our Naval Architects. All our vessels are built to International Standards and support category B and C offshore compliance.
From the inception of Sunrunner in 2000, Sunrunner maintains consistency in its General Management and its Administrative structures. Skills of the team which have attributed to the success and longevity of Sunrunner being Australia’s most premier and longest standing Sport Cruiser manufacturer include, process management, general management, trades, accounting, marketing, OH & Safety and distribution.
